I saw an Instagram post of a friend of mine going here, saw how aesthetically pleasing this place was and I told myself I had to go here when I get the chance.
I already posted my review on Yelp on how I felt towards this place. Honestly, it was kind of disappointing. Don't get me wrong, the place and concept of it is great, but the little things that should've been right, wasn't right.
It's like what most people have said on Yelp, or wherever, it's way over-hyped.
I ordered the matcha boba and Jarren ordered Thai tea with boba. The boba was alright, to be honest with you, I had better boba, and this was not one of them. It had no sweet honey flavor, just tasted like plain boba.
The matcha was good, but it felt a bit watered down as well. I think Jarren enjoyed his Thai tea though. (:
Overall, if you wanted to go there just for the pictures, go for it, but, I don't really recommend this place as a daily tea drink
I pretty much waited for dayssss--no just kidding--years, to drink tea at this place. I've been wanting and waiting for this moment for so long. I found Alfred Tea Room on Yelp and every time my friends and I pass by LA to go to San Diego or whatever, I've always wanted to stop by and check this place out but it was always closed! They close so early. Omg. It was like it was never meant to be.
But I finally got to go drink Alfred's Tea Room with Jarren before we left LA to go back to the East Bay! And... it was a delightful experience.
The interior and exterior of the store was amazing and cute. Pay attention to the little details and you'll find all the cute things around.
They were also selling mugs, tea, candles on the back wall of the store. Lighting wasn't the best in the store, but I mean, it's a tea room, not a library.
The service was also alright. The girls that were working there just greeted us with an unfriendly look on their face, even when I smiled back at them, they looked like they were dying to get out of there. Apparently, working there seems like a disaster.

I'm a big boba enthusiast and last night when we (Jarren and I) were planning to go to San Jose, I looked on Yelp to check out some great boba places. I scrolled through some here and there and saw Boba Bar Teahouse & Eatery and thought it was pretty chill to go there.
So, Jarren and I came here today after eating our big healthy breakfast. The Boba Bar was located at a pretty chill place. Outside, I saw a friendly orange cat just sitting on the table in front of Boba Bar, enjoying the nice weather. Later, when we went inside and ordered our drinks, we saw this awesome wall painting that was filled with cats and boba on the left side of the teahouse. Jarren pointed out that the wall painting was dedicated to Carne, the orange cat that was just outside of the teahouse, and was drawn by David Baker! Cool, cool.
I loved the interior of Boba Bar, and honestly if you have a good interior, you have a piece of my heart, because I love admiring interior designs. It was really spacious and when you walk inside, you kind of have that cozy, warm, home feeling.
Anyways, I ordered a regular Jasmine Milk Tea with boba with regular sugar and ice level just to try things out before trying any other drinks. It was pretty sweet. I typically drink milk teas with less sugar now-a-days and light ice, because I like the taste of tea. The boba was sweet and chewy as well, but a little bit soft.
I'll definitely come back next time when I go back to San Jose, because I really liked the customer service, the design of the place, and the things on the menu! ^^
