I never knew that moving across the country was so stressful. Even moving from one small apartment to our new apartment was stressful.
Since Jarren didn't want to write a review on the AirBnB site for our location we stayed at, I decided to write it on here. I rate the place we stayed at a 3.5 stars if possible because we totally loved it, BUT, there were some flaws that I need to point out.
We stayed at a private AirBnB, that means the owner is not there and the place is just to ourselves. Anthony, the owner of the apartment, is a great guy. He seemed really nice and approachable for questions whenever needed.
Everything looked exactly like the picture he posted on the AirBnB site that we booked. The place also was really close to everywhere we wanted to go to: South Beach, Design District, Wynwood Walls... so on so forth.
Anyways, the place was great. When I first walked into the room, I fell in love. The place is pretty small, but everything seemed so cozy, there's also AC behind the bed. One thing that I didn't like about the AC placement is that it's right there when we're sleeping, and you shouldn't have cold ass air blasting your head at night or else you can have a slight chance of waking up sick the next morning.
So, what really made me kind of disappointed about this place is that two nights before we were about to leave, I realized that the bed actually had some problems. I sleep on the inside near the wall area and every morning I wake up, I see so many bug bites on my legs--a total of 10!! IN ONE NIGHT!! I thought it was the mosquitoes (which I did get bit by a lot of, while admiring the Wynwood Walls.) I, at first, thought it was bed bugs, we checked the bed, and there was none. Then, I realized the patterns on my skin was flea bites. So there were fleas near the walls of the bed. How do I know this? Jarren never got bit by mosquitoes or fleas. He'd only get one or two and I'd get like 10-15 in one day. And out of the two times I switched places with Jarren when we were sleeping, those were the only two times he got bit. They were also on his legs. Nowhere else.
I walked around, browsing the kitchen. Checking the kitchen cabinets and drawers, there were actually utensils, a small stove to cook food (if you're on a budget this would be perfect), pots and pans, paper towels, toilet paper, Swiffer duster, a small microwave on top of the empty clean fridge, coffee brewer, two cute coffee cups, plates, bowls, cups... yeah you get the point.
Lastly, I didn't take a picture of the bathroom. But when we walked right in, there was this ghastly smell coming from the bathroom--the smell of stained piss. Which was weird because the bathroom looked so clean and tidy, yet there was that reeking smell of piss. I had to close the door every night in order to not have it travel at night to our bed.
Other than that, the place is great. I know I pointed out two flaws, but Jarren and I really enjoyed the place we were staying. The location is also really nice and safe. Also, Anthony responds back to questions immediately. So if you're not sure of something, don't be shy to ask him questions!
