I’ve thought of a million different ways to write about how my experience celebrating Chinese New Years with my family in Taiwan felt like, and honestly, words can’t describe how I felt.
I picked oranges for the first time in Taiwan!
When I slept over at my Sunny's house, the next morning we had to go pick oranges from the trees that her uncle's friend owns.
As we were picking the oranges, we were eating them as well. I never was a big fan of oranges, to be honest, but these oranges are soooo sweet. They tasted juicy and delicious with a ton of water inside the fruit. I even got full from eating so many oranges.
It was actually a really interesting experience. I didn't bring any ragged clothes to wear because I didn't know we were going to pick oranges, but Sunny's mom lent me some of her clothes to wear. Also, she said to wear this weird looking thing around my head to prevent spider webs or dirt on your hair/head. Let me tell you something, if you've never been to Taiwan, and you never been to their mountains, their spiders are freaking huge. I, myself, don't like spiders. So, seeing them up close and near my head freaks the shit out of me. Of course I'm going to wear something to protect my head! I'm not even ashamed. My best friend was cracking up so hard, and I'm like flaunting it around cause I really don't care.
Happy birthday to my one and only best friend, sister, lover, all combined into one! I'm so thankful to have you as my friend, and even though we practically have a long distance relationship/friendship, but we still manage to make it work. It's crazy how close we are, when we're so far away from each other. Anyways, I hope you have a great TWENTY TWO, and I'll see you at this end of the year! I luh-luh-luh-luh-luh-love you!
My best friend, Sunny, took me to to ShiFen (十分) in Taiwan to make our own TianDeng (天燈). We wrote our wishes on our lantern and watched it fly up in the sky.
It's my last night in Kaoshiung before I leave to Taipei tomorrow morning, and I finally got to see my long time friend, DianEr. Although we didn't get to hang out for a long time, we still managed to catch up through dinner. <3
