I’ve thought of a million different ways to write about how my experience celebrating Chinese New Years with my family in Taiwan felt like, and honestly, words can’t describe how I felt.
Growing up, I’ve always been separated by family. My parents and I moved around quite a few times, so I was never around a lot of my grandparents, uncles, aunties or cousins. I felt so alive when I was with my family, meeting new cousins that I’ve actually never even met before and celebrating all together.
They say, when you go traveling, you lose a lot of weight, especially when you’re in Asia, because you walk around so much… but not me. I gained so much weight because there was so much food, I was eating nonstop since everything was so good. Also, drinking. We were drinking so much.
Anyways, I just wanted to visually share my experience with all of you how my trip to Taiwan was like. And celebrating CNY in Taiwan was so much more different than in the States.
