I'm experimenting with Benefit brow service.
I've actually never got my eyebrows shaped before, and I kind of wanted to see what's the whole difference between eyebrow waxing and threading. I know what they are, and I've seen how painful it is to do--which is why I've been so afraid to do so--but I've been curious. I've always shaped my own eyebrows with tweezers and just a pair of small scissors, so I just want to see if waxing and threading is really worth it or not.
I actually got to experience both waxing and threading when I went to get my eyebrows and upper lips done. They first used wax on my brows and my lips, then used thread to clean up the other tiny hairs.
- Clean finish
- Feels like when someone put a big ass sticky tape over your skin and rips it off immediately
- The one on my lips hurt the most
- Pinkness on skin right afterwards for about a few hours
How long it lasts:
My eyebrows still feel very clean, although 3 days later, some of my tiny eyebrow hairs came out, but just use your tweezers and pluck that out and you're all good again!
It's been a week and my eyebrows are still nicely shaped. There are still only a few baby hairs growing out here and there, but I still just used tweezers.
- Not too much irritation on the skin after
- Feels like tiny pinches
How long it lasts:
This last also about 3 days as well, tiny hairs have grown out, but you can still pluck them and your hair will be gone again.
In conclusion, although I preferred threading over waxing before, after experiencing this whole shabangthang (I just made up a word), I prefer waxing A LOT more than threading. I mean, this is only my first impression, and I love the results after waxing. Whereas, for threading, maybe I'm just not used to it yet? But the pinching, I just can't get used to right now. At least for waxing, even though it hurts, but it's quick. Waxing on the lips though, omg, was painful.
Also, I do suggest going into Benefit without your makeup. I made my mistake of going in with my makeup on, and yes they DO do your makeup for you after, but I have a particular way of doing my makeup, so I wasn't too happy with my brows after they filled it in.
Will I do this again? I think it's a definite yes, but I don't want to constantly go back when I can just pluck my own eyebrows. If I needed some shaping assistance, I would certainly go back for some brow waxing treatment.
