Up2You Cafe was actually on my Dessert Places To Go To In San Diego in my Daily Agenda list.
First impression walking in was the amazing interior design that they had. Everything was well put and things were super cute. I was pretty amazed, my eyes couldn't stop looking around everything, people probably thought I was weird for taking so many pictures--but I don't really care.
Anyways, the line was short that time when Jarren and I went in. This place was actually recommended by the guys at The Switch vape shop. They said that Up2You Cafe was a really good place to eat dessert and drink tea at. Back to what I was saying, they had a lot of options, and normally I would order crepes or waffles to stay in my comfort zone, but since they're known for their honey toast, I had to try it out.
I ordered honey toast with nutella and strawberries, ice cream on the side and oh my Gawd, it was freaking delicious. The bread was actually super chewy and semi crunchy. It didn't have a soggy texture or taste to it. Yes, it's really sweet. I also ordered a chrysanthemum tea with boba and Jarren was already super full from the Thai food we ordered earlier that day so he just ordered milk tea without boba.
My thoughts about the boba is that they had a lot of selection and variety, but I still don't think their boba can beat NorCal's boba. San Jose and San Francisco has some bomb ass boba shops that have spoiled the crap out of me and tasting Up2You's boba was like nothing compared to what I've had.
I still loved that place so much and when I go back to San Diego again in August (?), I may go back to Up2You Cafe one more time for the yummy honey bread! <3
